    SkySchool students and staff are accommodated on a holiday park called Ninho do Corvo near the coast just outside of Ferrel.

    The accommodation is simple yet affordable and allows students to build team unity while being immersed in the sport. Each student is accommodated in a single room in a shared, self catered bungalow with air conditioning. There is the option to upgrade to a private cabin.

    On Sunday check in is after 3pm and check out no later than 10am. There are several good restaurants within walking distance, as well as a supermarket.

    Students should aim to arrive and depart on a Sunday as the Courses start at 09.00 on Monday morning and end on Saturday afternoon. The courses follow the APPI PPG training syllabus.

    During the day please bring appropriate footwear (ankle supporting boots are recommended), water, food suncream and suitable clothing for the time of year, including a jacket and trousers as it can get cold while flying.

    Lisbon Airport is a 75 minute drive from Ferrel and is very well serviced by most UK and European airports at reasonable prices. We recommend students hire a car in order to not only make your travel from the airport to Ferrel very easy but also to give you more freedom to explore the region when not training.

    We will connect students together on a WhatsApp group a month or so before the course allowing you to discuss sharing hire cars. If you don't drive or can't share a hire a car there is a good bus service from Lisboa Sete Rios to Peniché. We require students sitting a course in Portugal to have their own Insurance. In Portugal we run Paramotor Courses from a variety of different sites on the coast about 75 minutes north of Lisbon near Ferrel, which is also where we provide accommodation.

What is the best place to Paramotor in Portugal?

One of the best flying sites in Portugal is Praia do Bom Sucesso, about 20 minutes north of Ferrel, where it's possible to Paramotor and Paraglide on the beach. Another good site is Praia do Salgado, which is a huge open beach just south of the famous Nazaré, where the world's biggest waves can be found.

Portugal is one of the easiest training locations in the world because of the smooth on shore breeze, the consistent weather, the wide open beaches and the lack of thermals on the coast. This makes it very easy for people to learn how to Paramotor in a short period of time.

Where and when do we fly to in Portugal and when do the courses start and finish?

Students should fly into and out of Lisbon Airport on a Sunday. The courses start at 9am on Monday morning and finish around 18:00 on Saturday afternoon. Sunday is the Team's day off.

What are the best transport options in Portugal?

Most people share the cost of hire cars having liaised together over the flight times via the WhatsApp Group that we send out in the pre course email. This helps keep the transport costs down quite considerably.
